Tarrant Small Business Development Center Clients Contributed to the North Texas Economy

Tarrant Small Business Development Center Business Advisors Recognized

Tarrant Small Business Development Center (Tarrant SBDC) clients contributed 336 new jobs and $25 million in new capital to the North Texas Economy during the fiscal year ended September 30, 2018.

Tarrant SBDC is a program for economic development funded by the U.S. Small Business Administration, the State of Texas, and Tarrant County College. Tarrant SBDC’s mission is to accelerate Tarrant County, Texas economy by helping entrepreneurs grow sustainable businesses. Tarrant SBDC program is fully funded; there is no charge to clients for their services and resources provided.

In recognition of their individual efforts, The North Texas Small Development Network recently presented business advisors Cynthia Harnest, Cle Royal, Cathy Trinh and Efren Villanueva a coveted memento earned by a business advisor that assists SBDC clients in obtaining $1 million dollars or more in loans during a fiscal year. Thanks to the high quality of Tarrant SBDC clients, each business advisor exceeded the minimum standard significantly.

Clients also acknowledge the value of Tarrant SBDC business advisors when they say: “The SBDC taught me how to become bankable, understand the loan process, and appreciate the value of a business plan. ”

Lenders benefit from the assistance that borrowers receive from Tarrant SBDC business advisors. They tell Tarrant SBDC that borrower returned to the bank from Tarrant SBDC better prepared for the lending; that Tarrant SBDC equipped the borrower to succeed after the loan; and that Tarrant SBDC speaks our technical language and translate that technical language in terms that the borrower understands.

The Tarrant Small Business Development Center (Tarrant SBDC) is hosted by Tarrant County College (TCC). Tarrant SBDC supports TCC goal of “Serve the Community.” Tarrant SBDC is funded for economic development by TCC, State of Texas, and The United States Small Business Administration. In private, confidential sessions, Tarrant SBDC business advisors learn the needs of the business then educates and shares resources to assist the client in growing sustainably.
