Fort Worth native, Cynthia Harnest, has been a Business Advisor for the Tarrant Small Business Development Center (SBDC) for over 21 years. She has also been a business owner, having owned and operated two businesses. Cynthia received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas in Austin, entered the banking business, but her true calling was entrepreneurial. She headed to the sunny beaches of San Diego, California where she started her first business, the San Diego Delivery Pool, and spent the next 10 years building it up; working the last 5 years on earning a master’s degree in Organizational Developmental Psychology. Cynthia sold the business and returned to Fort Worth where she became involved in the family’s international business as well as starting at the SBDC as a Business Advisor. In 2001, she bought the business and doubled sales within the first 3 years. In 2019, she sold the business to another family member keeping it a family business.
Wanting to share her experience, she now helps others that want to start or grow their business. As a trusted Advisor, Cynthia has worked with a broad spectrum of businesses in all areas of business development and is passionate about helping business owners succeed. Given her diverse background, Cynthia can give clients advice, direction, and motivation.
